This next month we journeyed from Eswatini to South Africa. More specifically we went to Jeffreys Bay in South Africa. Here the place we are living has way nicer living quarters, but most importantly they have hot water (for showers)!!! That is by far the main thing I missed from the United States. Though here the country doesn’t have much water. So we can only take about a 2 minute shower. Also they have what’s called load shedding. The country also is struggling having enough electricity. So during different hours throughout the day our power would be cut off. I was also surprised to learn that this has been happening for the last 4-5 years.

Anyway we eventually started into our new ministry. The first week was good but not what I was expecting. We were basically gardening/landscaping. We helped pull weeds/ plant new plants such as potatoes, lettuce, spinach, carrots, hot peppers, sweat peas, and many more. These vegetables when harvest would go to help people that struggled with cerebral palsy. Also we helped move around a bunch of dirt. Its hard to describe but basically we made things look nicer.

The next week we helped with a completely different ministry. The guys on this missions trip helped make compost. That is basically a big pile of animal manure, sticks, plants/leaves, and water. Mix it all and stack it up. Eventually it will turn into compost which basically looks like dirt. Thankfully they only had us doing that for the first 2 hours of the day. After that we went and helped clean up this place called “Beats and Books.” This ministry helps kids with homework, tutoring, and with learning musical instruments. The students where on break this week so we helped clean up the place. Next week the students will come and we will help like tutor them. Also help them do there homework.
I can’t wait to see how God uses this!!!
