Life in Eswatini is slow. It's relaxing compared to a very busy American life where every hour of the day is planned out. Here in Eswatini is something called African time. We could have someone scheduled to pick us up at 9 but they might not get here till 11. It's very relaxed and we leave when we leave.
Our ministry has mostly been like kids ministry. There are these places called care points. That is where we spend most of our time. They feed the kids after school. So they are usually located near schools. They will usually also have a playground that kids who don't go to school can play on. So this past week we have been going to different care points and hanging out with kids and playing with them. The kids also love playing soccer. So I have been able to show off some of my skills in playing with them.
There is also another part of our ministry where we do something called house visits. People are very welcoming in this culture. So we will go to different people's houses and sometimes bring food other times just to talk. We will talk to them about life and God. We will share some Bible verses with them and pray with them. Then we will leave.
Something I found cool is how almost every kid will have a smile on their face. No matter where children are they are children and they can be happy. There is a joy around kids and it's very encouraging to see that they have very little and yet are so happy.
